Drug addictions

Moyra Consult works in collaboration with the Day Centre "Solidarnost" (Solidarity) for treatment of drug addicts. Here we publish the program of the Day Center.

Who are we

"Solidarnost" is a day centre for therapy of drug-addicts. It was established by the Association "Struggle with Epidemic Diseases and Drugs Habits" a non-governmental organization. Our team is multidiscipline and includes psychologists, social workers and medicine men. We work under the supervision of one of Europe's most renowned therapeutical communities "Trempoline", Belgium (http://www.trempoline.be), as well as the collaboration of the National Centre for Drug addictions (http://www.ncn-bg.org), Sofia.

Our mission

Our goal is consultation, orientation, rehabilitation and resocialization of drug-addicted youths, which is to guarantee them healthy life with no drugs, to train them in social skills and competence for managing risk situations and open the way to autonomous life for them.

The therapeutic program
First contact

We support our clients with information on the different possibilities for treatment according to what they can afford and the duration of usage. Our specialists analyse the client's request, their present situation and prepare them for entering the Centre.

Work in groups

In the "Solidarnost" centre work group is done in two directions: pedagogical and therapeutical.

• Pedagogic work includes participating in various discussion groups and creative studios, where the clients share their difficulties and anticipations, look for solutions of their problems, learn to plan their every-day-living and to work out a constructive project for their life. This allows for the choice of new life values as responsibility, mutual aid, respect/esteem and honesty, which influence their furthest behavioral choices.
  
• Therapeutic work has to find the reasons leading to dependency/addictiveness and train the addicts to accept and handle/manage their emotions, to identify their needs, to take control of themselves even in stressogenic medium, to transform the image of theirselves into positive. The most frequently used therapeutic methods are cognitive-behavioral therapy and psychodrama.

Work with the families

We believe the families and close people of the addicts are part of the solution of the problem and we offer:

• Information, listening and support
  
• Assistance in looking for solutions of the difficulties they face with their close ones - addicts
  
• Encouragement in creating and participating of groups for mutual aid where they can share their problems and experience

Resocialization

Everything acquired during the therapeutic program is applied in the live social medium. We teach our clients abilities for psychosocial interaction and motivate them for various activities: effective/efficient communication, presenting themselves before institutions and in interpersonal contacts, looking for a job, professional qualification and continuing their education.
